Confidential, individual meetings to discuss and assess what you have to offer and what career possibilities await. Starting in your freshman year, we will help you create an individualized plan with the Webster Geneva Career Planner, and help you strategically acquire the hard/soft skills and experience during your studies to increase your chances to reach your goals. We also work closely with the Academic Advisors through the Scholars and Academic Careers Excel (ACE) programs to help align your academic program with your career goals.

Career Services helps all students in their search and application for internships. For internships for credit, students need to obtain prior approval from the Head of the Department. Internships provide both valuable experience and insight into the kinds of careers or organizations that you would enjoy.

Undergraduate students with at least 80 credit hours and a GPA of 2.5 or higher and graduate students with at least two terms completed and a GPA of 2.5 or higher are eligible to join Webster’s Internship Program and will be sent details of around 250 plus internships posted each academic year. You decide if you would like to apply or not for a specific posting. Internships are available in businesses, NGOs and International Organizations and for all majors offered by Webster University, Geneva Campus.

Students with a GPA of 3.5 or higher may join Webster’s Honors Internship Program. When an Honors Intern applies for an internship, Career Services will highlight their application to the internship provider.

Career Services helps students to develop their CVs including academic goals throughout their studies in alignment with their developing career interests and graduate school programs they may ultimately decide to apply for. Careers provides impartial help with the choice of programs and graduate schools. We also help students with the complex logistics of the graduate school application process.

Career Services brings the employment community to campus (corporations, NGOs, international organizations, recruiters) through events inviting a variety of professionals including Webster alums working in HR and line management in many different types of organizations. Over 60 organizations: 25+ nonprofits, 40+ companies and recruiters — have come on campus to meet students.

Events are hosted each semester, and always include time for students to network. Events focus on a variety of themes and sectors such as obtaining internships and jobs in media communications, banking, trading, marketing and finance to working in the UN or NGOs.

Career Services locally administers the Global Mentoring Program. This program matches current Webster students with Webster alumni around the world. Matches are made based upon common career interests and monthly mentoring meetings are held (virtually or in person) to enable the student to learn more about a career of interest and understand how to enter and be successful in this field of work. Participation in the program allows students to make more informed career decisions and develop their networking skills; a key to career success.
