Green Cross International Conference
Webster University Media Communications students, along with professor and MA coordinator Dr. Rebekah Jorgensen, covered the Green Cross International "Conference for a Green and Inclusive Economy" on October 6-7 in Geneva.
The GCI conference, which began with a personal message from founder Mikhail Gorbachev, featured a wide array of global environmental and business experts, the key theme being that "the solutions are there now, and the time for action is now."
An honorary tribute by Corinne Lepage, former Member of the European Parliament and French Minister of the Environment, was made to the 40 million Scouts around the world, whose environmental and humanitarian efforts have made a huge difference in many regions. Other innovators were acknowledged, including Dr. Somthai Wongchaeron and his inclusive and impressive plastic bottle recycling program in Thailand, which will soon be introduced to Benin, Africa with Swiss start-up financial support.
Webster students videotaped and photographed forty interviews in multiple languages, in addition to covering all the conference proceedings.
