WHA Dance-a-Thon Success
On October 4, the Webster Humanitarian Association staged a Dance-a-Thon fundraiser for the International Rescue Committee to help with their response to the current refugee crisis in Europe and around the world. Thanks to faculty sponsors and dancer contributions, 850 CHF was raised - almost double the intended goal.
The day started bright and early at 8am with a Zumba class led by Olivia Watson. This was followed by Latin dancing with Santi Cruz and Rafaela Cardona, contact improvisation with Abbott Chrisman, and karaoke featuring some of our study abroad students. Around 70 faculty, staff and students participated throughout the course of the day and all involved with this event have said that it was a great experience, and an innovative and exciting way to raise awareness and money for a specific cause.
A video of the event can be seen on the WHA Facebook page.
