Goodarzi Promoted to Associate Professor
Dr. Jubin M. Goodarzi, a member of the permanent faculty at Webster Geneva Campus,
was promoted to the rank of Associate Professor of International Relations this summer.
The Research, Review and Promotion Committee (RRPC) used the process and new format
specified by the Provost for promotions made at international sites. The review was
led by Dr. Oreste T. Foppiani, IR Department Head and Associate Professor of International
History and Politics, and included peer reviewers from Webster Geneva, Webster Vienna,
Webster London and Webster Saint Louis as well as external reviewers from universities
in Geneva and the region.
Dr. Foppiani congratulated Jubin on his accomplishment and asked him to take the helm
of the IR Department next year. “Jubin,” affirmed Oreste, “is a strong academic, a
well-mannered person and a reliable colleague who is always eager to find a solution
to complicated issues and defuse inter-personal conflicts. Additionally, he often
cooperates with other departments to pursue ambitious research goals.” “I believe,”
continued Oreste, “that he might also become an excellent diplomat or UN top official.”
Mr. Ronald W. Daniel, Academic Director at Webster Geneva, said, "Jubin is a wonderful
colleague who balances a busy research agenda focusing on the Middle East with a full-time
teaching load and service as Deputy Head of the IR Department. I have been consistently
impressed with Jubin's excellence in his work across all areas of teaching, service
and research. I trust that the whole community will join me to congratulate Jubin
on this well-deserved and very special achievement.”
