New Student Orientation Success
Spring Orientation at Webster Geneva Campus has brought a record number of 51 study abroad students to the campus. The majority of this group have arrived via the WINS network (Webster International Network of Schools) and come from as far as China, Oman, India, Korea and Columbia. Alongside the Study Abroad students, the community also welcomed 12 new undergraduate students from 8 different countries (Ecuador, Switzerland, Cyprus, Saudi Arabia, France, USA, Russia and Kazakhstan).
Nick Vasiloff, Senior Education Abroad Advisor from Kent State University, said, "It is a remarkable opportunity for affilate institutions such as Kent State University to be able to send their students to Webster Geneva. Not only does the location of Geneva itself offer a unique and dynamic atmosphere given the multinational and multilingual environment, but the academic atmosphere at Webster University serves as a true catalyst for students' growth. Being able to take advantage of an international faculty base, varied perspectives from the diverse group of students on campus, and a supportive living-learning community is an invaluable benefit for our students."
During their orientation the new students were able to enjoy a taste of Swiss tradition with a trip to La Givrine and St.Cergue. There they took to the slopes for some sledding followed by a traditional Swiss fondue. Pictures from the trip can be found on the Webster Geneva Facebook page.
