O'Neil Speaks at York Conference

Dr. Maryvelma O’Neil (GCP) participated in a conference on Jerusalem: Memory, Heritage, Imagination at York University (1 September 2016). Curators from the Metropolitan Museum of Art offered a dazzling preview of the forthcoming exhibition, Jerusalem 1000-1400: Every People Under Heaven. Conference topics included how Pokémon Go is remapping Jerusalem, medieval pilgrimage, the city as viewed through the eyes of Palestinian poet laureates. She addressed the campaign to preserve vulnerable cultural heritage in a presentation entitled, “Jerusalem’s Universal Cultural Heritage: Death by a Thousand Cuts?”
