Digital Marketing Webinars

The Digital Marketing Webinars were launched on the 3rd of June 2020 at Webster University Geneva as a summer series. The Webinars were held weekly over a period of six weeks. The purpose of these webinars was to explore the most recent trends in Digital Marketing Management. The webinars were hosted by Professor Katarzyna Jagodzinska, the Director of Webster’s Executive Education. Our invited expert speakers are all professors who are engaged in the Digital Marketing Management. Each week they discussed the current market trends in their area of expertise.

The webinars were live streamed on WebEx every Wednesday from 18:30 to 19:30. Professor Dominique Jolly opened the series discussing the increasing reliance on cash-less payments in China. Through practical and anecdotal examples, Professor Dominique Jolly provided explanations to this digital transformation and issues which need to be solved. In addition, he pointed out the benefits from which other countries could profit by following China’s example.




On the 10th of June, Professor Katarzyna Jagodzinska provided insights on the selfie-generation and the use of technology. She then discussed how this self-concentration is transplanted into modern business practice. Professor Katarzyna Jagodzinska discussed the implications for brand design and perception management. Finally, she explained the current perception management techniques and errors.




On the 17th of June, Doctor Nicoletta Iacobacci presented the Digital Media Trends for 2020 and the future. She discussed the emerging medias, presented virtual and augmented reality, Artificial Intelligence and digital humans.




On the 24th of June, Doctor Edward Boon discussed how content marketing in social media requires marketers to think and act like publishers. He provided practical examples and insights on the challenges which companies are currently facing.




On the 1st of July, Doctor Kavé Salamatian explored the concept of Viral Marketing in social media. He explained the factors that need to be taken into consideration when making a publication go viral and described the ingredients of a successful diffusion.




To conclude our Digital Marketing Series, Doctor Glenn O’Neil shed light on the impact of Covid-19 on the digital media culture. His talk provided insights as to the implications of these changes for the workplace, business and individuals.
