Webster Geneva Campus, AIC Launch Joint Mentorship Program

Webster Geneva students are in the AIC meeting

Webster University’s Geneva Campus announces the launch of the first Joint Mentorship Program in collaboration with the American International Club of Geneva (AIC).

This unique initiative, running from November 2024 to April 2025, will offer undergraduate and graduate students an invaluable opportunity to gain insights from industry leaders while expanding their professional networks.

The program is designed to complement students' academic knowledge with actionable, real-world insights, giving them direct exposure to professionals across various industries. By interacting with experienced mentors, students will have the chance to develop essential soft skills such as communication and leadership — key attributes for future career success.

In addition to building these personal skills, the mentorship experience also bridges the gap between academia and industry. Mentors will play a pivotal role in transferring practical knowledge and skills to students, helping them gain a deeper understanding of workplace realities. This exposure is not only expected to boost students' confidence but also provide clarity and direction for their future career paths.

One of the key benefits of the program is the way it encourages students to refine or even rethink their academic focus. By providing access to a range of expertise from different fields, students will be better equipped to make informed decisions about their majors and minors, enriching their academic experience as a whole.

This new mentorship program is part of Webster University’s long-standing tradition of fostering student development through close engagement with the professional world. With years of experience in running mentorship initiatives, Webster Geneva is excited to elevate this partnership with the AIC, bringing new opportunities for growth to our students.

The program, officially launched on Sept. 11, is co-led by Ryan V. Guffey, Director General of Webster’s Office of Global Campuses, and Phillip G. Sundquist, CFA, CAIA, President of the AIC. Together, they have created a platform where students and mentors can exchange knowledge, build confidence and strengthen the crucial link between academia and industry.
