Dr. Francesco Arese Visconti, deputy academic director and head of the Media Studies Program at Webster Geneva Campus, presented his groundbreaking research at the 7th edition of the Italian Diasporas – Italy in Movement conference. The event took place from Dec. 5-7, at the Museo Nazionale della Emigrazione Italiana in Genova, Italy. 
  
This prestigious conference, organized in collaboration with institutions such as the John D. Calandra Italian American Institute (Queens College, CUNY), CO.AS.IT. Italian Assistance Association (Melbourne), and MUNTREF Museo de la Universidad Nacional de Tres de Febrero (Buenos Aires), centered around the theme Representation and Questions of Identity.

Arese Visconti’s presentation focused on his recent research into 21st-century Italian migrants in the Arc Lémanique region of Switzerland. His interdisciplinary approach combined photography, portraiture and cultural identity to explore the evolving narratives of migration. 
  
The study delved into the representation of Italian migrants through archival imagery and original photographic portraits, challenging traditional narratives and shedding light on the complex identities of contemporary Italian diasporas.
