Text on screen: Matthew Bullock, BA Management: Emphasis in Marketing student
[Bullock sits in a classroom at the Webster Geneva Campus near lighted windows showing a view of trees in the background.]
Bullock: Hi, my name is Matthew Bullock, and I'm 22 years old. I'm from the United States, Zimbabwe and Switzerland. I grew up here in Geneva, and here at Webster Geneva Campus, I am studying Management with an Emphasis in Marketing.
Text on screen: Do you feel Webster has been a good fit for you?
Bullock: I feel like Webster Geneva campus was a great fit for me as since I started school when I was 3 years old, I have been a part of an international school background. I went to an international school not far from here at Webster Geneva Campus, so I was used to being around people from diverse backgrounds, speaking different languages, coming from different countries. That's exactly what we have here at Webster Geneva Campus, so I thought it was a smooth transition for me to come to a school such as Webster Geneva Campus.
Text on screen: How have you found the campus experience?
Bullock: Webster Geneva Campus is a small school, which actually gives you a lot of benefits, such as having smaller classes or smaller amounts of people in your classes so it is easier to get help from teachers outside of class time, as well as to make friends, since there aren’t so many people. Everyone kind of knows each other, so it's easy to see people all over campus, whether that be in the cafeteria or just walking around school. It’s easy to make friends here.
Life on campus is great, with the help of a department such as Student Services, who organizes a lot of events and excursions outside of campus to explore the beautiful parts of Switzerland, as well as events here on campus, as well as the Student Government Association, which is a student-led association here on campus who organize a lot of social events on campus and outside of campus.
Here at Webster Geneva campus, I have a merit-based scholarship, which I received thanks to my grades in high school.
Text on screen: Have you had any work experience during your studies?
Bullock: I actually have a lot of experience as a work-study student here at Webster Geneva Campus since I’ve been working here since my first year, so I started in 2020 and have had a job ever since. I started as a bookstore assistant, then moved to a part-time receptionist and library assistant.
Text on screen: What are your plans after graduation?
Bullock: I graduate in a month, actually — this is my final month here at Webster Geneva campus. My plan is to do an internship at UEFA, which the company has their headquarters not far from Webster Geneva Campus, so I’ll be there for 6 months post-graduation.
Text on screen: Would you recommend attending Webster Geneva Campus?
Bullock: I would tell any student that they should come to Webster Geneva Campus as they get a diverse campus with students from many different nationalities and different backgrounds. They get to experience classes that aren’t too busy, meaning that there aren’t too many people in the class, which allows you to better understand the material that is being given to you, as well as being able to meet with teachers outside of class, so you get a better understanding of the material being given to you. And you get an American education in a beautiful city like Geneva. The school is about 10 minutes away from the center of Geneva, so you get to enjoy the landscape, you get to enjoy the social life of Geneva, as well as everything else Geneva has to offer. So come to Webster Geneva Campus.

Text on screen: Why Webster Geneva Campus?
Aiche: After finishing my French Baccalaureate, I decided to focus mainly on tennis because I was traveling around the world for international competitions. And then COVID hit, so everything was blocked, basically. Aiche: For me, Webster has actually been a very good fit because of the small classes, English teaching, plus we’re surrounded by nature. It’s not in the city center of Geneva, but it's only about 10 minutes away, which makes it really convenient. It’s fast to come here and quick to go into the city. The fact that people here come from different cultures and backgrounds makes the whole experience different.
At Webster, we have many clubs, many activities provided. Many events that Student Services organizes just for the purpose of the students. So it’s not just academic studies and class focus, but also extracurricular activities where you can gain experience in addition to the classes.
Text on screen: Did you receive any scholarship awards?
Aiche: I did receive a scholarship because I had a GPA higher than 3.5, so I was among those lucky people who had the chance to receive the scholarship.
Text on screen: What are you plans after graduation?
Aiche: Indeed, I will graduate in May 2024, and I have already applied for a Master's in Commodity Trading at the UN. I hope everything will be fine until then.
Text on screen: Have you had any work experience during your studies?
Aiche: I have had two work-study positions: the first as an Assistant in Career Services, and the second as an Assistant in the External Relations and Alumni Department.
Text on screen: Would you recommend attending Webster Geneva Campus?
Aiche: I would highly recommend Webster University to anyone who wants to continue their studies because it’s in Geneva, it’s an international city, it’s a multicultural environment, it is small classes, so better relationship with your professors. It’s all these aspects that make Webster unique, and I think it would be great for everyone to actually come here to study. Come to Webster!
